Hydrotaea aenescens – Predatory Fly

Order Deadline: Wednesday @ 8 AM EST

How It Works: When the Hydrotaea aenescens emerge from the released pupae, they will lay eggs on or close to the manure. The developing larvae will predate on the house fly larvae. Hydrotaea aenescens will develop on manure only. In contrast to the house flies, Hydrotaea aenescens adults will not irritate the animals as they stay low in the pit.

Target Pests: Controls the house fly (Musca domestica) and the lesser house fly (Fannia canicularis) + other Fannia spp.

Best Use:

  • When wanting to prevent or control the above pests.
  • With the combined release station, which can be placed inside the stable, outside the reach of the animals.

Shelf Life: within 1-2 days of receipt.
