Drososan Trap

Description: Plastic trap for monitoring and mass trapping of fruit fly Drosophila suzukii.

Best used: install the traps as soon as the temperature exceeds 10°C, coinciding with the beginning of the adult flights and fruit development in surrounding trees and shrubs. Traps will be less effective once fruit starts to ripen.

Pack size: one red container/insect reservoir with four openings covered with mesh (to eliminate the risk of capturing other insects or pollinators). Includes transparent lid/cover and a hook.

Works by: the spotted wing drosophila are attracted to the trap by the liquid attractant. Once in the trap they drown in the attractant. The trap has been specifically designed to prevent the undesired trapping of other insects.

This trap must be used with an attractant solution. We recommended to add 200 ml of this solution per trap:

• 1/3 water
• 1/3 cider vinegar
• 1/3 of red wine
• 1 tablespoon sugar syrup or molasses
• 1 teaspoon of liquid soap
