Orius insidiosus – Predatory Insect

How It Works: Both Orius insidiosus adults and nymphs pierce thrips larvae and adults with their sucking mouthparts, extracting their contents.

Target Pests: Feeds on the larvae of Western Flower Thrips, Onion Thrips, and other thrips species. 

Best Use: When wanting to control the above pests. 

Shelf Life: Within 1-2 days of receipt.

Step 1: Arrival 

Upon arrival, please ensure that you place the product out immediately or within 1-2 days of receipt. Do not store the product in the refrigerator; instead, place the bottles in a cool, dark location at around 14°C until use.

Step 2: Placement 

Apply each bottle in 20 separate spots around the greenhouse or grow room. The product can be applied on rock wool slabs, leaves, or via Dibox application boxes.

Step 3: Repeat Applications

To keep this predatory insect in your crop, you will want to introduce additional bottles on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. 

What to Expect Upon Arrival:

Bottles will be packed in a protective eco box with ice packs and buffer packs to ensure safe transport.

Each bottle contains adult predatory insects in a carrier material, along with food for their survival.

Most of our products contain living organisms; therefore, we must follow specific procedures to guarantee their safe transportation from our door to yours.

  • All orders received before Wednesday (3:00 pm EST) will ship the following week.
  • If there is a holiday the ship day will be delayed one (1) business day.
