Pheromones ONLY -  MUST BE USED in conjunction with the box tree moth trap (Buxatrap).

Description: Comes with 4 pheromones that attract Cydalima perspectalis moths, also known as the Box Tree Moth.

How It Works: Dispensers release a species-specific sex pheromone, which lures the males of box tree moths into the trap. Once in the trap, they cannot escape and are easy to detect, count and identify. Trapping males aids in reducing the number of eggs laid by females, as they fail to mate. 

Target Pests: This product targets male box tree moths.

Best Use:

  • From May until the end of November (dependent on geographic location).
  • Each trap holds 2 pheromones. Pheromones must be replaced every 8 weeks until the end of the moth's flying time in your region. 

Capsanem should be used if you already have the Box Tree Moth caterpillars on your boxwoods.

Shelf life: 2 years after the production date when stored in a freezer (-18°C), and 1 year when stored in a refrigerator (4-6°C).

Step 1: Arrival 

Short term: store in a refrigerator (4-6)C for up to one year after purchase. Long term: store in the freezer (-18C) for up to two years after purchase.

Step 2: Placement 

Must be used with a Buxatrap. Use two pheromones per trap as shown in the video below. Do not open the plastic container. Do not touch the pheromone dispensers with your bare hands, since manual contact can spread the pheromones to other areas. Wear gloves. It will look like the dispensers are empty, but trust us, the pheromones are in there.

Step 3: Repeat Applications

Replace the pheromone capsules every eight weeks when moths are active: from May/June until the end of November (depending on geographic location).
