Horiver Rollertraps

$18.73 CAD

Description: Polyethylene ribbon coated with wet sticky glue.

How it Works: Horiver Rollertraps are designed for monitoring flying pest activity. The sticky surface allows insects moving through the crop to be captured, providing a visual tool for observing pest presence.

Best Use: For monitoring all flying pest insects:

Which Color Should You Choose?

  1. Yellow: Whiteflies, thrips, leaf miners, winged aphids, fungus gnats, shore flies, male mealybugs, and all other fly species.
  2. Blue: Thrips
  3. Green: Echinothrips

Placement Guidelines:

  • Foliage-Dwelling Pests: Position traps just above the canopy (30-40cm) and adjust as plants grow.
  • Soil-Dwelling Pests: Position traps near the soil line.

Step 1: Preparation

Make sure that the Rollertraps are at least at room temperature before placing them out. The glue will be softer and the traps will unroll easier.

Step 2: Placement

  • Place Rollertraps in areas where high pest pressure is expected, such as along gables, near ventilation windows and at (other) places with dry conditions.
  • Rollertraps should be hung above the crop when the crop is still low
Attach the Rollertrap to crop wires, greenhouse poles, or other supportive structures.
  • Place the Rollertrap approximately 25 cm above the crop, except for the 30 cm width which needs to be placed 40 cm above the crop.
  • To assist with placement, insert a rod or other expedient through the center opening of the roll which will allow the Rollertrap to spin freely while unrolling
  • At the beginning and end of each run, cut the trap approximately 40 cm longer than the support structure.
  • Wrap the extra around the support and secure with staples or clips.

It may be necessary to secure the Rollertrap mid run to provide additional support. To help with application: Rollertrap Clips (Package Of 5) – Retail Koppert Canada

Step 3: Repeat Applications

Change out traps when they become largely covered by insects and/or debris, usually recommended around the 10 month mark.
