Encarsia formosa – Parasitic Wasp

How It Works: Female adult parasitic wasps parasitize second to fourth stage whitefly larvae. Host feeding also takes place.

Target Pests: Controls the Tobacco Whitefly (Bemisia tabaci) and the Greenhouse Whitefly (Trialeurodes vaporariorum). 

Best Use: as a preventative or curative to control the above whitefly species. 

Shelf Life: within 1-2 days of receipt.

Presentation: Cardboard strips with 5 cards each, wrapped in plastic, in a cardboard box, each card holds 60 parasitized whitefly pupae.

Important Information for Use:

  • Immediate Action: This product starts working as soon as it is introduced to the plants. However, visible results, such as whitefly pupae changing color, will become noticeable after 14-21 days.

Step 1: Arrival 

Upon arrival, please ensure that you place the product out immediately or within 1-2 days of receipt. Do not store the product in the refrigerator; instead, place the boxes in a cool, dark location at around 14°C until use.

Step 2: Placement 

Open the package carefully inside the area you want to treat. Bend and tear off the strips opposite the mounting hole. Make sure not to touch the pupae during handling. Suspend the cards in the crop, approximately 75 cm under the plant head. Avoid hanging cards in places exposed to direct sunlight.

Step 3: Repeat ApplicationsTo keep this parasitic wasp in your crop, you will want to introduce additional boxes weekly or bi-weekly. 

What to Expect Upon Arrival:

  • Boxes will be packed in a protective eco box with ice packs and buffer packs to ensure safe transport.
  • You may notice little movement upon arrival. This is normal, as the pupae may not have hatched yet during transport.

Most of our products contain living organisms; therefore, we must follow specific procedures to guarantee their safe transportation from our door to yours.

All orders received before Wednesday (3:00 pm EST) will ship the following week. We guarantee the product will arrive before end of day Saturday.

If there is a holiday the ship day will be delayed one (1) business day.

Orders are not shipped or delivered on Sundays or holidays.

We do not ship to P.O. boxes. Have your order sent to a physical address or direct to a UPS/Purolator Depot.

We do not ship to territories.
