Ephestia kuehniella & Artemia spp. – Supplementary Food

What is it? Dead Flour Moth Eggs & Brine Shrimp Cysts.

How It Works: As predatory bugs need a continuous food source to maintain a population, Artefeed can be used as an alternative food at low pest density.

Best Use: Apply at the beginning of the growing season when pest density is low and you want to keep the predatory bug population up.

Presentation: 10g of Ephestia kuehniella eggs, mixed with 50 grams of Artemia spp. cysts (eggs).

Shelf Life: Place within 5 days of receipt.

Important Information for Use:

  • Make sure Entofood is distributed on the top of the plant.
  • Entofood can be distributed using a Mini-Airbug.

Step 1: Arrival 

Upon arrival, please ensure that you place the product out immediately or within 5 days of receipt. Do not store the product in the fridge; instead, place in a dry dark place around 8-10C until use.

Step 2: Placement 

Apply Entofood at the locations in the greenhouse where the predatory insect you are trying to feed has been introduced.Make sure that Entofood is distributed on top of the crop.

Step 3: Repeat Applications

Apply weekly or bi-weekly until the beneficial insect population is large enough to feed on the pests you are trying to control.

Due to wildlife regulations in Newfoundland and Labrador, we require a copy of your permit to possess & import live wildlife before we can send you beneficial insects.
