To be used with our pheromone dispensers - Pherodis!

Description: 1 trap with a suspension hook and one sticky insert. To purchase more sticky inserts, click here: Deltatrap Sticky Plates

How it Works: The Deltatrap needs to be used in combination with a Pherodis pheromone dispenser. The dispenser releases a species-specific sex pheromone that lures the males of the particular pest into the trap. Once in the trap, they get stuck in the glue and are easy to detect, count, and identify. Trapping males aids in reducing the number of eggs laid by females as they fail to mate.

Best Use: For monitoring and trapping male moths and male, alate mealybugs, depending on the Pherodis pheromone you use.

Step 1: Arrival

Fold the trap into a triangle. Place a sticky insert at the bottom of the trap, with the sticky surface facing upwards. Fold both edges of the triangle base upwards. If you are using a Pherodis capsule with this trap, place the capsule on the bottom in the middle of the sticky trap.

Step 2: Placement

Hang the traps approximately 10-30cm above the crop in a location where they can easily be inspected (e.g. along the center aisle of the greenhouse). Distribute the traps as evenly as possible over the area in order to avoid interference. Use two to four taps per hectare for every species of moth to be monitored. Use one trap per 500-1000m2 for mealybugs.

Step 3: Repeat Applications

Change out traps when they become largely covered by insects and/or debris.
